2015: Day 12
After nearly half a century I’m getting pretty darn good at putting my foot in my mouth. Without getting into details, let’s just say I’ve been trying to get back in Tiffany’s good books after carelessly neglecting to acknowledge her in a comment back in July. She was quite correct to shoot back “What am I, chopped liver?” I immediately knew I was in the dog house. So for 5 months I’ve been planning to celebrate her in our 12 DOD, but had no idea what the heck to do with chopped liver as a theme.
No, this drink was not made with liver. Anything made with liver (including liver) is just wrong. So here’s the spin. Once you get past the rum which probably isn’t doing the liver any favours, the rest of this cocktail was designed specifically to revitalize and rejuvenate the liver. The Chopped Liver (not) is made with fresh cranberries, mint, pomegranate juice, lime, soda water and light rum (the cranberries, pomegranate juice and mint are all known to do the liver good).
Cheers to you Tiffany! You are anything but chopped liver. Hopefully this small gesture will at least get me to the doorway on the way out of the dog house … unless I say something stupid again
